It was hard for her to accept that she was lesbian. It was only possible after witnessing the same-sex relationship of several couples who were happy with each other. At the time, she was 25/26.
After marriage, she moved on a road-trip from the Pacific Northwest to Nashville with her partner. Before driving back west, to Los Angeles Brittiny, felt deep-seated racism all around her. She thought that everything was better if she was out of the South. She said that the South had tons of black people, so even if you’re racist, you’re still down with the black people. But up there, they didn't get that many black people, so they didn’t even know how to act. It made her angry, but mostly it made her sad.
After the trip, Howard and her life partner, Lafser, settled together in Taos, New Mexico, with their three dogs and two cats- all who have human names.
Brittany is very career-focused, and a career like hers doesn’t lend much time to focusing on building a family. So, She doesn't know what will gonna happen in her future.
