HBO released its new documentary entitled 'Wild Card: The Downfall of a Radio Loudmouth' on 6 October 2020, which features the real-life story of the rise and bizarre fall of the New York sports-radio personality Craig Carton. Carton is a former host of Wfan 660 morning show “Boomer & Carton.”
The documentary reveals further insight into the sports-radio personality's insatiable gambling addiction and illicit ticket-broking business. They were the prime reasons for his downfall, which came following his arrests by the FBI agents. He became the victim of a conspiracy, wire fraud, and security fraud charges regarding the crime he committed.
Craig Carton was arrested on 6 September 2017 by the FBI regarding a $5.6 million ticket scam fraud. He allegedly tricked investors out of $5.6 million, covering staggering gambling debts. As per the reports, Carton had millions of debts with a couple of casinos and $825,000 debt to an individual. Previously, he provided a false document that cited the fraudulent ticket resale business.

During his arrest, the FBI agents called on his wife's number, the source mentioned. His wife frantically rushed down in her pajamas and appeared scared to death for him. However, it was a short-lived expression.
They eventually divorced once Carton pleaded guilty to the alleged crime for which he was arrested. After that, Carton lived in his New Jersey home during the time of bails.
