After exactly a season of being a regular cast in the show, The Talk, Elaine Welteroth has announced her departure during the talk with Deadline.
Elaine said to the publication that it was an honor for a young black woman to get space on-air where their prospectives were largely underrepresented. She added,
“It was gratifying to be able to show up as my authentic self in front of a live national audience every day in a world as divided as ours and to stay true to myself and what I stand for. I came to The Talk to break out of my own echo chamber and to join a diverse cast in helping to bridge some of the divides in our world through conversation and empathy. I’m proud of how I represented myself and my community. But as I always say: when the music changes, so must your dance!”
She further expressed her gratitude to the fellow cast-mates and crews from the show as well as its viewers, saying she would miss them. She promised to come soon with a creative project.
Meanwhile, the executive producers of The Talk, Heather Gray and Kristin Matthews, also wished the best for her further career in life. They also added, “Her openness and meaningful conversations were attributes we admired and always appreciated.”

Elaine Welteroth Married Life With Husband Jonathan Singletary
Elaine Welteroth is living a happy married life with her musician husband, Jonathan Singletary, best known as the lead singer of the group Harville, for about a year now.
Welteroth reportedly met Singletary when she was “twelve or thirteen” during the time they visited the same choir in the same church.
However, love only found its way until they met later in life. When they reunited a while after their first meeting, Singletary was “in a situation” where he couldn’t start a different relationship. Then after going to her family home, all alone, Elaine was shown video footage of her growing up as it started playing the song, Magic by Coldplay. And the next thing she knew was Jonathan coming up to her gradually as they watched the family video, singing along to Magic while getting down on one knee to propose to her finally.

During an interview with E!’s Daily Pop!, Elaine talked about her biracial parents. She introduced her mother as a proud black woman and her father as a hippie, freestyle guitar-playing white man.
She also had her great grandmother by her side until recently but lost her on the way. So, her curiosity of knowing more about her ancestral history got better for her as she went on to do the AncestryDNA process to learn more.
When the results came out, Elaine came as 1 percent German while her dad had German and Irish ancestry, and she further learned of her grandmother being Irish. As for her African ancestry from her mother’s side, they are seemingly rooted in Central Africa, and her ancestry comes from the Bantu people and Congo.
Regarding her educational background, she attended California State University-Sacramento and graduated majoring in mass communication/media studies with a minor in journalism.
