Erica Mena Files For Divorce With Husband Safaree Samuels After Cheating Scandal
Erica Mena and her recent husband Safaree Samuels have decided to call it quits after less than 2 years of their married life, just a few weeks after announcing that they were expecting a second child in their marriage.
Mena filed for divorce on 21 May 2021 in Fayette County Superior Court in Georgia.
According to the court documents, Erica requests primary custody and joint legal custody of their daughter, Safire. She is also asking for spousal support and exclusive use of the home they are sharing right now.
This news comes after a video surfaced on social media, showing Safaree allegedly dancing intimately with another woman at the club. And it may have been a final push for her to get out of the marriage relationship with her recent man. Then fans also noticed that the two had been deleting their posts together on their respective social media.
Although it remains just speculation from outlets, it seems Erica has been giving out a faint hint of their split in her social media posts. In her recent Instagram post just a day after filing for divorce, she posed to the camera without hiding her ringless finger.
Earlier this month, Erica admitted that marriage is “not easy at all.” While announcing that she is pregnant with their second child, she wrote in a now-deleted post, “Marriage-it’s not easy at all. But having a family of your own makes up for it all. God, I thank you for the protection and all the consistent blessings. I been through way to [sic] much to not be as grateful as I truly am.”
Erica and Safaree welcomed their first child together, Safire Majesty Samuels, in February 2020 – months after getting married.
Married Life Of Erica Mena With Husband Safaree Samuels
Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels met on the reality TV series Sacred Famous in 2017. They started dating for a short while and got engaged on Christmas Eve of 2018. After, they married in New Jersey on October 7, 2019.
However, they were quite on the verge of calling it quits in their marriage. In February 2021, Safaree took to Twitter to hint at an end to his marriage with Erica. He wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “I mean this from the bottom of my heart getting married was 1 of my BIGGEST mistakes and it will never happen again,” he continued, “I’m walking away before I End up in jail over some dumb sh*t. Nobody is worth my freedom.” This was posted months later after his first divorce threat to Mena in a November 2020 tweet announcing that he was “Ending 2020 right!!! as a BACHELOR!!.”
Mena then immediately responded to her husband directly, writing, “since you always run to social media like a little girl I might as well join in. I absolutely agree with you on this. You are the most selfish, vain, and inconsiderate person.” She added, “And not just me but your only daughter!”
In a follow-up tweet, Mena wrote, “out of RESPECT for my daughter and to honor my growth as a woman. I’m going to get back to doing what I do best. Make money and be only about my business. Entertaining social media with my issues isn’t my thing.”

This is what my life is about! Priorities be really f----d up for some people. Blessed I’m not one of those idiots.”
And as it seems now, Erica has taken the steps necessary to file a divorce against her marriage with Safaree, which is in motion. They may be legally divorced anytime soon now.
Prior to their divorce news, the pair announced in early May 2021 that they were expecting their second child together. “Safire got a new sibling,” Safaree captioned a maternity photo on Instagram to share the news. “New baby who dis?? #2under2 time to get neutered now I need a chef and a nanny.” In the comment section, Mena added, “Get ready!!!! Any day now,” Safaree joked in another post that it “better be a boy,” as reported by PEOPLE.
