Javicia Leslie, an American actress, will be doing the role of CW's Batwoman, replacing the most-liked action actress, Ruby Rose. Leslie will be portraying the protagonist's role in the upcoming show that returns in 2021. With that, she became the first black woman to be in the lead role of CW Superheroine production.
Leslie opened about her new role in The CW production with a statement which said:
"I am extremely proud to be the first Black actress to play the iconic role of Batwoman on television, and as a bisexual woman, I am honored to join this groundbreaking show which has been such a trailblazer for the LGBTQ+ community."
In the upcoming show, the 'God Friended Me' star will be playing a brand new alter ego, Ryan Wilder, whose character is described as 'likable, messy, a little goofy, and untamed.'

There was a dilemma among the production team when the show was left by an Australia actress, Ruby Rose, in May 2020. She stepped down from the role of Kate Kane and her alter-ego, the titular Batwoman.
Almost everybody liked the Batwoman portrayed by Ruby Rose, an Australian actress and model. However, she will not be doing the role anymore. But she did praise Leslie for taking up the role and said it would be 'amazing.'
