Josh Denny Fired By Food Network Over Controversial Comment On Abortion
Earlier this month, the Food Network made known to the public and viewers of the show Ginormous Food that they are no longer in a working relationship with the show’s host, Josh Denny.
After the Texas government ruled on upholding abortions after the 6-week mark of pregnancy, which if followed through would make the woman fine with $10,000.

Denny’s commented on this ruling via Twitter and used a slur to describe women as he disagreed with the fact that many women wouldn’t know they were pregnant within six weeks of conception. He further strongly refused to ever apologize for his brand of comedy.
On 3 September 2021, the Food Network took to Twitter to respond to their employee’s actions, writing,
“For those asking : Our working relationship with Josh Denny ended years ago and we removed all episodes he hosted at that time. His views do not reflect our company values and we regret giving him a platform.”
However, Josh didn’t seem to quite agree with it and later retorted to their statement with a tweet that read,
“If you regret having ever given me a platform, how about you send me a check for the 10’s of millions of dollars my show made for your network(s)? You knew my views and my style of comedy when you hired me. My views represent the beliefs of half of this country.”
He has already been a subject topic of a handful of controversies on Twitter even prior to this.

He tweeted that the word “Straight White Male” has become “this century’s N-Word. It’s used to offend and diminish the recipient based on assumption and bias. No difference in the usage.”

However, following the threaded tweet, Denny was responded with quite some strong denials over his thoughts, to which even Dictionary.com tweeted, saying that the “n-word was “considered the most offensive word in the English language. “Straight white male” is… not.” But he didn’t back out from his beliefs and refused to apologize for his tweet.
Denny was flooded with criticisms for his jokes and called an idiot for thinking so. Still, later, he tweeted a post of gratitude for all the people who participated in his “healthy debate” over the racial slur.
Josh even identified himself as a libertarian in one of his tweets while jokingly writing, “because a Libertarian is the closest thing to a conservative you can find in the entertainment industry.”
The comedian was even lectured about political correctness once during his performances back at a club in Minneapolis in 2011 when he failed to make his “all black” audiences laugh with his initiative phrase.
