The Cheers actress Kirstie Alley had tweeted about the recent Russia's invasion of neighboring Ukraine on Friday, for which she received backlash from many, including Dancing with the Stars alum Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Kristie had since deleted that tweet and defended herself with another post.
She had tweeted on Friday, writing, "I don't know what's real or what is fake in this war. I'll pray instead." It was a simple tweet but received many criticisms from social media users, and Maksim Chmerkovskiy criticized her, saying that no one needed her prayer if she didn't know what was real or fake. He recalled how she was right next to him when they were organizing trucks of aid during hurricane Sandy, and she said that innocents were suffering. He added that the same energy was needed right now.
