After getting caught up in a horrific incident, Lauren Scruggs, an American blogger, and model, came to the limelight. The unfortunate incident causes her to lose a hand and an eye. But there's a saying, 'When there's a will, there's a way.' Lauren didn't lose her will and established herself in the fashion industry despite the events in a spinning plane propeller.
Lauren Scruggs Unfortunate Accident
Lauren Scruggs appeared on TODAY to talk about her horrific incident in the December of 2011. She said that she was already having a premonition of something happening during the night of the accident that she was very unsettling on the plane journey.
She flew to Dallas with her pilot friend in a single-engine plane to view Christmas lights on 3 December 2011 when her suspicion was not right on the point of crashing, but Lauren was still a life-losing casualty. That night, as she walked out of the plane in the dark, she unintentionally walked toward the spinning blades, which made her lose her left eye, her left hand, as she also suffered from a brain injury.
Lauren was immediately rushed to the Dallas Parkland Hospital, where she underwent several surgeries to stabilize her condition.
Nonetheless, despite living through such an accident with severe casualties, Lauren was even more relieved to be alive than ever. She appreciated every aspect of her life and had a "compassion that I couldn't have had before."
Just three months after the accident, Scruggs was already indulging in recuperating activities when she was seen exiting a Texas gym in February 2012 with her mom Cheryl.
While her recovery journey was ongoing, several publications took the chance to share her journey from time to time in their articles and her mother, who shared it in her blogs. And after going through treatment, therapy, and rehabilitation, the fashion journalist got more vital than ever.
She went on to recuperate from the severe injury while living the moment of her life more fully than ever. But she was sure she wouldn't be able to find love again, which proved her wrong as she met her future husband, Jason, some years after her propeller accident.

And she is pretty much grateful in life after being blessed with such a husband, who she says loves her for "who I am."
Moreover, ever since going vital step by step after her accident, Scruggs launched a nonprofit organization called LSK Foundation to help cover the cost of silicon-covered prosthetics for those who have lost limbs.
How Much Is Lauren Scruggs Net Worth In 2022?
Despite her heavy injury, Lauren Scruggs is still responsible enough to contribute to society with her career work as a fashion journalist and blogger. Through her work in the fashion industry, she has a net worth of $1 million.
Starting her career as an intern on CW's Gossip Girl, Lauren reported for Fashion Week in New York, Paris, and Milan for several years regarding the styles and fashion of the world to her audience.
She gradually began writing blogs about fashion through her online magazine called Lolo, which also marked the starting point of her career reaching new heights until she went on to have a life-changing accident just four months later.
The propeller accident hit her hard for her to lose an eye, a hand, and receive some severe brain damage. Still, it also attracted the public's attention as she became a frequently featured topic on national news such as Good Morning America, The Today Show, E!, and much more.
Nonetheless, because of the accident, Lauren got a chance to see the part of the world she had never batted an eye on, went on to meet several people who faced similar incidents to her, and saw the world in a new light, which burned her compassion and will to live even more.
After a month in her accident, she met Bethany Hamilton – who survived a shark attack at the cost of her arm – with whom she found a retreat entitled Beautifully Flawed for girls with lost limbs. Later on, she established a nonprofit organization called Lauren Scruggs Kennedy Foundation to aid differently able people in dealing with their insurance for prosthetics while also creating a dry shampoo line with her best friend.
Though hit with a heavy obstacle in life, she did not lose her will to live. She started to recuperate from her injury, which she has also mentioned in her memoir, Still Lolo: A Spinning Propeller, a Horrific Accident, and a Family's Journey of Hope.
