Is Lecy Goranson From 'The Conners' Married?

Lecy Goranson has never been married in real life, but she has shared few relationships on ABC's The Conners when it comes to reel-life.

The Conners have become one of the highest-rated primetime comedy shows on ABC due to its high stakes and drama. And in the finale, 'Bridge Over Trouble Conners,' the family faces plenty of turmoil regarding their future with respective ones. In the hit series, Lecy Goranson plays the role of Becky Conner.

Becky raised her infant child alone since father Emilio (Rene Rosado) was sent back to Mexico in an ISIS raid in the first season finale. This left her in a difficult choice to be made whether to marry Emilio and bring him to the US for raising their child or not.

The major storyline in the Rosanne spin-off, The Conners, is Becky confronting her alcoholism and the role that the tragic death of her husband Mark (played by Glenn Quinn, who passed away of a heroin overdose in 2002 at age 32).

When Becky’s roommate Rachel (Iris Bahr) told her that her stint in rehab was all part of God’s plan, Becky retorted with the heavy grief of her husband’s death against the idea of God helping her. She said, “The last time [God] helped me, she threw a deer in front of my husband’s motorcycle, and he died.”

She couldn’t take the sadness, and eventually, it drove her to take up the bottle, and she kept on weeping, remembering Mark and her past self. Then her father (John Goodman) stood up to give her a big hug with pride.

Lecy not as the character but as the actor opened up about how the hit show is coping with the death of her former on-screen husband, Glenn Quinn. She shared that the show was dedicated to his memory and his life.

Even Glenn is no more with the show's cast and crew; they still feel his presence and acknowledge his loss. This has encouraged them to work with positive energy to celebrate his memory on the show.

With a bit of issue going on in the Season 2 finale of The Conners, Becky went to Mexico unprepared. While Jackie was primed for the drive after shotgunning was too many energy drinks, Becky and Emilia ended up having a meaningful reunion. When Emilio was bidding a final farewell to his infant daughter, Becky asked him to get married.

The show had a commercial break. After that, Becky was already in the states and revealed the impromptu marriage to her family to get Emilio back in the country in about two years. Even though Dan (John Goodman) wasn’t able to accept Becky's way, the viewers were quite taken aback by such development in the story.

Becky was once told that she would not bear any child due to her sobriety problems. She had her miracle baby and survived her surprise “geriatric” pregnancy. Still, little Beverly Rose Conner was, unfortunately, born two months premature and had to be put on a ventilator in the NICU.

Becky immediately blamed herself for being too old and drinking too. However, she was grateful to have a baby. When she was able to narrow down the fact that Emilio was her baby’s father, and the two began to get close, he was discovered as an illegal immigrant and was deported.

Becky was originally planning to raise Beverly herself, considering the condition at the time. However, many difficulties arose for the single mother, and Tia Ruthie and Tia Elsie arranged for Becky and Beverly Rose to see Emilio.

Lecy Goranson Was Also Married To Glenn Quinn On The Show 'Roseanne'

Lecy Goranson was 13 when she went for her second audition in Chicago and landed the role of Becky Conner on ABC’s Roseanne in 1988. She had a background in acting and dancing, and it showed in her work. In 1989 and 1990, she was nominated for the ‘Young Artists Award’ for “Best Young Actress in a Supporting Role in a television series” for Roseanne's first and second seasons.

She displayed her acting at the best of her effort in Roseanne. The third season of the show, in which Becky meets her biker boyfriend, Mark Healy, who her parents don’t think highly of, was also well-received by audiences. Season 4, focused on Becky’s estrangement and reunion with Mark, also went down well with the audience.

In the fifth season of the show, she moves with Mark to Minneapolis and gets married before the legal age, which sparks the tension with her dad, Dan, followed by reconciliation. However, both fans and industry watchers were shocked after she resigned from the role due to her full timetable of college.

She left the show in 1992 to attend college, saying she wants to experience some form of normalcy. Despite the show’s producer making amends for her tight schedule to still star on the show, she refused as her time was fully loaded for attending the college.

So the producer rewrote the script, which had Becky elope with boyfriend Mark Healy when Goranson couldn’t star in the show anymore. Then the vacant role was taken by actress Sarah Chalke through an audition.

After leaving the show, she does not regret her decision due to the tight schedule of the college. Even after she left, she craved herself to the viewers' mind that she was the one fit for portraying the character Becky Conner in the show.

Goranson returned and starred in several episodes of the eighth season but pulled out again due to scheduling conflicts to be replaced by Sarah Chalke, who finished the ninth and the final season. Her replacement is apparently called second Becky, even after the final season of the show.

After college, Goranson moved to New York City. She has appeared off-Broadway in theatres such as The Public, New York Theater Workshop, The Vineyard, The New Group, The Atlantic, Soho Rep, and Ensemble Studio Theater (where she is a member), among others.
