Molly Mcnearney Had Star-studded Wedding With Boyfriend Turned Husband Jimmy Kimmel
Molly Mcnearney and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel are married since 2013.
However, Molly didn’t give off a good first impression to Jimmy as he barely replied on being introduced to her during her first year working at the show. So it was a rough start for their relationship, but they are a lovely couple now.
Their romantic feelings started to blossom in late 2009 when the writers would socialize once in a hang-out party. Jimmy was also present at the meeting, and he asked them about their five favorite foods, where Molly listed as pizza, gnocchi pasta, a BLT, crab claws, and a cheeseburger.
Shortly after the meeting, Jimmy invited Molly into his house and prepared her 5 favorite dishes from scratch, which Molly found incredibly thoughtful and generous of him. From this moment, she started to look at him romantically and developed their relationship over time. They started dating in late 2009.
After dating for 3 whole years, in 2012, Kimmel finally brought up the proposal of tying the knot to his girlfriend at the time, Molly McNearney, while vacationing in South Africa’s Kruger National Park. And they got engaged.

According to a reliable source, they got married after a 10-months long engagement on 13 July 2013 at a ceremony in Ojai, California. The wedding venue was full of celebrity guests, including Damon and his wife Luciana, Ben Affleck, Jenifer Garner, Howard Stern, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Ellen DeGeneres, and Portia DeRossi.
With good, thoughtfulness intent in mind from her friend, Gabourey Sidibe provided comic relief ceremony in a full wedding gown, pranking the whole attendants, to prevent Kimmel from tearing up in the wedding.
After the settlement of the comic, McNearney walked down the aisle with her father and vowed with Jimmy saying, “I do.” Then at the rehearsal dinner, they were joined by Stanley Tucci, Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard, and others, where “guests were taken via trolley to a big barn near the inn, where the bride and groom – both dressed in all white – waited to greet them,” US Weekly told.
The couple seemed so ecstatic to see family and friends enjoying their time at the wedding ceremony. The public perspective on their relationship is also positive, commenting on them as a cute couple.
With the marriage, McNearney became stepmother to Kimmel’s son and daughter, Kevin, and Katie, from his previous marriage to Gina; they divorced in 2002. She has maintained a good relationship with them as their stepmother.
On 10 July 2014, McNearney and Kimmel welcomed their first child named Jane with a satirical tweet from McNearney, “Kids, don’t do drugs. Until you have a baby. Then do ALL OF THEM.”
Their second child, Billy, was born on 21 April 2017. Billy was born with a heart condition that requires him to have at least three open-heart surgeries in his life. One of which was done few hours after his birth, when the condition was discovered.
The moment of the surgery of Billy just after his birth was too hard for them. And Jimmy saw all of it; people coming and putting more things on him. After many opinions they got, they decided to move Billy to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for open-heart surgery when he was merely 3 days old.
Kimmel has been open about the condition regarding Billy and advised to get the kids better healthcare. He also appreciated his wife’s positivity and calmness even during a bitter experience for a mother. He also explained the hard experience for him of that incident after a week-long in his show.
Despite gaining nothing from sharing their bitter experience, he just wanted to let everyone know of the health care condition in the hospitals for the other people whom the couple met in that hospital.
Thankfully, Billy’s health has been improving. On 21 April 2018, Jimmy uploaded a sweet Instagram of Billy on his first birthday in a bow tie and party hat with a caption thanking the medical department involved in his son’s treatment and those who gave the family their thoughts prayers.
The couple is, now, living a prosperous and happy life as a family with their children. However, they keep things professional when they work together. Molly still co-writes Jimmy’s opening show monologues.
