Nick Grimshaw Bids Farewell To Radio 1
Nick Grimshaw has recently expressed his heartfelt message with gratitude to his former workplace, Radio 1, to say his final goodbye to them.
During his last ever show with the radio show, on 12 August 2021, he bid his farewell to the show. He began his message by saying that he had already made up his mind to leave the show after his 14 years there and had already cried several times thinking about it.
While talking to his fellow presenter Adele Roberts, he said,
“We are here for my final show on Radio 1, and I feel the weirdest ever. It’s weird, we just did a Zoom in the office with everyone from Radio 1, like DJs producers, management, everyone who works here.”
Continuing on, the show also presented some highlights of Nick’s time with Radio 1. And as the show reached it ends, Nick went on to express his utmost gratitude for his fellow colleagues from the show, the producers as well as the listeners of the show.
we love you, @grimmers! ❤️

He added, “It really was my childhood dream to work here. And you made that dream come true,” as he further encouraged other listeners to keep fighting on for fulfilling their own dreams.
At the end of the show, Nick played The Talking Heads’ This Must Be The Place, which he never played on the radio show until then while thanking his listeners for “for being part of making my dream come true.” He concluded, “Enjoy this, I’ll see you around.”
Surprisingly, the presenter got a hoard of messages from his close celebrity friends, among which Harry Styles explained that his “favorite time being on Radio 1 with you was probably forming the Straight Through Crew and going straight in from the Brtis.” At the same time, he thanked Nick for being in the show for such a long time.
Now, after Nick exited the show, we have not heard anything from him about what he will be doing from this point onwards, but whatever he does his fellow crews from his time on the Radio 1 and his listeners as well as the personalities he has interviewed will be supporting him.
Is Nick Grimshaw Gay? Is He Dating Anyone?
The radio presenter came out as gay on 17 August 2012 which even got himself ranked to number eight on The Independent on Sunday’s list of the 101 most influential LGBT people in Britain, that same year.
However, even after coming out, it was quite hard for Nick to find anyone for him to date. Nonetheless, in October of 2018, Nick was revealed to be dating dancer and model Meshach Henry, which was reportedly clarified by a source close to Nick while talking with The Sun.
After months of their relationship revelation, Nick invited his partner, Meshach, to live together in his North London home.
Nick also talked about his first meeting with Meshach during his appearance on Celebrity Juice. He spoke that he met Meshach outside a London pub and got linked by his friend. He said he first crossed paths with his now-boyfriend “in the smoking area of a pub on Hackney Road” when he was a “total stranger.”
Then his friend initiated the talk with Meshach, jokingly saying, “My mate fancies you. How old are you, 10?” And shortly after, the pair found love, and romance bloomed between them, and they are very much in love ever since.
But he has faced some serious struggles at a young age to identify his own sexuality and talked about him coming out while on a sit-down interview with The Huffington Post. During the interview, he revealed how hard he still struggle to accept his own identity after coming out, and how he coped and overcame those struggles after knowing his “current LGBTQ hero” the poet, activist, and model Kai-Isaiah Jamal.
The most striking words Nick heard from Kai was during one of his interviews, when he said, “You become the mirror that you need, and I hope that you’re proud of your reflection.”
Grimshaw was presenting on the Radio 1’ breakfast show while he came out in the year 2012. But after six years of working in the morning breakfast show, he left it, swapping with Greg James, and then found his love afterward.
Shortly after finding his new love, he celebrated his birthday in 2018, taking his new boyfriend to Oxfordshire. Meshach also shared a photo of himself relaxing in a bathtub while he enjoyed the birthday treat arranged by his partner.
Previously, when he came out as gay in 2012, he said that his perfect man would be Frank Ocean. He was also reported to have shared a bath with Scott Mills, but not simultaneously.
Moreover, over the years, prior to his confirmed relationship with Meshach, LOLZ reportedly speculated to him being linked with a certain boy band member, and later, he was also reported to have been linked to star photographer Michael Mayren. But all those relationships were never confirmed until his relationship with Meshach made the headlines.
Who Are Nick Grimshaw Siblings?
Nick has two siblings, Andy and Jane. He shared an adorable sibling snap with his sister, Jane, on his Instagram account as they cuddled up together. He captioned, “with my darling sister,” to the photo of the post where the siblings looked very much identical.
The radio presenter was born to parents Peter and Eileen Grimshaw as Nicholas Peter Grimshaw.
He also has a niece named Liv, with whom he starred on the Celebrity Google box.
