The TV and Radio presenter, Richard Bacon, who said he was nearly died, returned to Good Morning Britain after two years. He lives in a luxurious mansion with his wife and two children. He was also a presenter of Blue Peter but later got fired. Let’s check why he got fired and about his illness.
Richard Bacon Married Life With Wife Rebecca McFarlane
Richard Bacon is a married man. He married the current chairman of Barclays, John McFarlane’s daughter, Rebecca McFarlane, in January 2008. They both met each other while working at Capital Radio for two years before getting married. At that time, Rebecca was the station’s marketing manager.
The couple has two children. The elder child is a son named Arthur, born on Halloween Day in 2011, while the younger child is their daughter Ivy who was born in 2014.
The couple used to live in Richmond, but later the family moved to Los Angeles, where Richard worked for Fox Television.
Due to his illness, he was put in a medically induced coma at Lewisham Hospital in southeast London. A few hours later, he posted a picture of him with his children for the first time after he was admitted to the hospital in which he wrote,
“Final day visitors. Kept them away when on Life Support. Not my best look.”
In the picture, he was in bed with a bandage on his neck and posed for the picture-making V sign, and his children were on both sides.
45-years-old Richard has claimed that he has stopped the Alexa (an automated machine), which was telling that he was fired from Blue Peter for taking cocaine to his children. His children asked Alexa. “Who is Richard Bacon?”
To which Alexa replied, “Richard Bacon is an English television presenter. He was fired from Blue Peter in 1998 for taking…”.
Bacon interjected to stop the Amazon device, but Arthur and Ivy, who were still children, were not deterred.
He described: ‘They said, “What are you saying stop for? Why did you get fired?”'
Richard started working for Blue Peter in 1997. He hosted with Konnie Huq, Katy Hill, Romana D’Annunzio and Stuart Miles. He worked there for 18 months, after which News of The World reported he was taking cocaine in a London nightclub. Since Blue Peter's show was also for the children, the presenter was forced to leave the Blue Peter and hand over the Blue Peter badge in 1998.
