She was born on 9 May 1979, in New York City, USA. She is currently 42 years old. She has appeared in a variety of movies, including Rent, Sin City, and such. Also an outspoken activist for various causes, Dawson co-founded Voto Latino to encourage Latinos to register and vote.
Anti-Trans Assault Lawsuit Against Rosario Dawson And Her Family Is Dismissed
Back in October 2019, Rosario Dawson and her family were accused of mistreatment and discrimination, including anti-trans insults and physical assault by Dedrek Finley, a trans man and longtime family friend who used to work for the actress household repairs.
It caused a huge uproar over the internet, and previously in autumn 2020, all but two charges were dropped by Finley, as he saw the stepping down of his lawyer at the time.
According to Los Angeles Superior Court, a judge has thrown out the final remaining claims after Finley failed to respond to repeated court requests for documentation and an independent medical examination to reinforce his claims of mental and physical harm.
After the case was dropped, the 42 years activist, Rosario, said in a tweet on 27 May 2021, “My family is pleased that this baseless suit is over. While the vast majority of the false claims had been voluntarily withdrawn last year – including every single false claim of discrimination – the court has now terminated the remainder of the case allowing us all to move forward.”
She continued, “That these false claims came from someone we’ve known as a chosen family for decades and who we were trying so hard to help out, as we have many times in the past, was very heartbreaking. Nevertheless, we have great empathy for him and have only ever wished him well.”
Is Rosario Dawson Dating Anyone?
In March 2019, Rosario Dawson confirmed to TMZ that she is in a relationship with Cory Booker.
Later in June 2019, while Booker was a guest on the talk show RuPaul, Dawson – who was in the audience – confirmed that she and Cory had been dating since late 2018. And after being grilled by RuPaul himself, Booker said that they first met through a mutual friend, Ben Jealous, who was running for Maryland governor. But the romance was not set on their first meeting, they met on several other occasions at their friend’s party, and months later, it was at a roof party of their friend where Booker finally had the courage to ask for her phone number.
Then on the new year of 2019, Page Six reported twice that Booker and Dawson had been spotted out and about on date night in New York City, while at the time, they didn’t respond to their relationship rumors. Eventually, after some time, in March 2019, when pressed about her relationship by TMZ, Rosario admitted being in a relationship with senator Cory. Rosario also claimed Cory to be a “wonderful human being” at the time of the revelation.
In October 2019, around the time of hitting the one-year mark of her relationship with Booker, Rosario said that she’s “absolutely in love” despite having “no love connection” when they first met. She went on to reveal that for the first time, she felt like “I have someone in the center of the storm with me.”
The couple began living together in the politician Booker’s home in Newark, New Jersey, in late August 2020. But they didn’t get as much time due to the recent pandemic’s condition and election cycle. However, they still kept in touch with each other via FaceTime and daily phone calls and text messages.
On Election Day, 3 November 2020, Booker was re-elected as a state Senator in New Jersey. Rosario took to her Instagram to celebrate the occasion, with a sweet message that wrote,
“So proud of and grateful for you my love. I got to vote for you here in New Jersey and am so glad that you overwhelmingly and rightfully won your seat again. To know your leadership will continue to guide us with love, brilliance, patience, grace and effectiveness is the kind of representation and hope we need. We saw record turnout and need to keep building so that we can win both houses and make real change!”
The duo also attended the Inauguration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris together on 20 January 2021, as they were seen wearing matching blue face masks during the ceremony.
In early 2020, Dawson opened about her sexuality after an Instagram post widely interpreted as her unofficial coming-out.
Dawson was asked about that June 2018 post in an interview with Bustle while promoting her new USA series Briarpatch. In it, she reposted a video of rapper Chika singing a pride month anthem to the tune of Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You with a caption encouraging “my fellow lgbtq+ homies” to “keep being strong in the face of adversity.”
Dawson said to Bustle, “People kept saying that I [came out]… I didn’t do that. It’s not inaccurate, but I never did come out. I mean, I guess I am now.” She added that she had “never had a relationship in that space, so it’s never felt like an authentic calling to me.”
Later that year, Dawson began dating Senator Cory Booker, and the romance bloomed between them. Since then, the pair has continuously gushed over each other in several of their interviews and has posted several snaps of them together on social media, in which we can see them be totally in love.
While Rosario has settled down with Cory now, she had a storm of dating and other relationship rumors going around before, though most of it seems to be the outlets jumping to conclusions. In 2000 Dawson supposedly dated Jay-Z, although it was brief and probably eclipsed by the fact that the rapper also met his future wife, Queen B, that same year.
Two years later, she was reportedly linked to Fringe’s Joshua Jackson, but the pair did date for a year, whereas some tabloids claimed the pair to have been engaged, which was a false rumor. In 2004, Dawson was linked to two men, her Alexander co-star, Collin Farrell, and Sex and the City’s Jason Lewis. The speculation with Farrell was probably a result of paparazzi jumping to conclusions again, but Dawson dated Lewis from 2004 to 2006, and they lived in Los Angeles together.
After she left Lewis in 2006, Dawson was connected to two more men that same year. In 2006, there was speculation of her dating director Quentin Tarantino and also having some affair with her Grindhouse co-star, Eli Roth, that same year. But neither of these seemed to be true when in 2007, she was seen kissing her 300 co-stars, Gerard Butler.
The next year, Dawson started one of her longest relationships with Mathieu Schreyer, a French DJ though they eventually split in 2011. She moved on to date another director Danny Boyle in 2012. But their relationship remained a private matter until they split in 2013.
While not much information is disclosed about her relationship between the years 2013 and 2016, Dawson was reported to have dated comedian and television host Eric Andre for one year, from 2016 to 2017.
Rosario adopted an 11-year-old child named Isabella, who also goes by the nickname Lola, back in 2014. In early 2021, Rosario reflected on her relationship with her adopted daughter. She admitted how grateful she was for having “a young person” and watching her maturation over time. She opened up that her experience inspired her to adopt; as she spoke “At 5,” she was revealed to be adopted.

Looking back on the beginning of their journey together, Dawson said becoming Isabella’s mom was “clearly meant to be.” Because Rosario’s family “knew” Isabella’s biological mom and were aware that the child was in foster care, they were determined to find her. She explained to the outlet, “We looked for her. It wasn’t even a question… she’s my kid.”
