Skepta is a British grime MC, rapper, songwriter, and record producer. Along with his younger brother Jme, he joined Roll Deep for a short period of time before becoming a founding member of Boy Better Know in 2005.
He was born on 19 September 1982 in Tottenham, London, as Joseph Junior Adenuga to Nigerian parents. He is the eldest of four children; fellow musician Jme, radio presenter Julie, and graphic designer Jason. He is currently 38 years old.
Skepta was recently a topic for the rumors of dating Adele. Know more about him here!
Is Skepta Dating Adele?
Adele was reportedly seen together with a British boy “matching the description of Skepta” at the Cabazon Outlets in the Prada store, as reported by Page Six.
An insider told the outlet, “She was sitting watching him while he was picking sweaters, pants, trying on jackets and coats and having the employees help him. She was giving feedback and saying what she thought he looked great in.”
“It was cute that just waiting and being a normal girlfriend while he looked. He must have shopped for 45 minutes.”
Adele seems to be enjoying the moment, and the insider speculated that they might have spent some time in nearby Palm Springs over the Fourth of July weekend.
Last October, an unnamed source told PEOPLE that Adele saw the rapper, adding that “things have been heating up” between them. “They run in the same circles in London, and she’s having fun,” the insider continued.
However, in the same month, the singer Adele appeared to make her relationship status clear when she wrote on Instagram. “I’m going back to my cave now to be the (single) cat lady that I am!”
The duo has been friends for years and has a deep connection over music, PEOPLE reported. Sources also told the outlet that both were born in the neighborhood of Tottenham, London, and are parents to young children.
In an interview with Evening Standard in 2016, Skepta talked about his friendship with Adele. “Adele texts me all the time and keeps me in check,” he said. “She speaks to me about how things are going.”
Though they have not hinted or talked about having any romantic stints, we have to wait for the future to see what it has in store for their relationship.
Naomi Campbell Is Not Mother Of Skepta's Daughter
Prior to his dating rumors with Adele, Skepta has been linked to another high-profile UK celebrity, Naomi Campbell. They seemingly confirmed their relationship on the cover of British GQ in March 2018. The Sun’s report claimed that the couple broke up in 2018 after Campbell learned Skepta was expecting a child with another woman.
The pair seemed to have first linked during the 2016 British Fashion Awards, and Skepta had the hots for her ever since. Following a year in an interview, he admitted his iconic supermodel as “Naomi Campbell.” Then in October 2017, Skepta tweeted a snap of the pair together, captioning the post with a love heart emoji. And after being spotted in January 2018 at two different Paris Fashion Week parties in the French capital, several sources stepped out for several outlets to talk about their relationship. They seemingly hit it off well together, and “things are going well but they are taking it very slowly.”
Finally, the couple had their first public appearance at the NME Awards in February 2018, during which they had their eyes locked only for each other. In March, the couple posed for a raunchy shoot together in British GQ magazine.
However, their relationship was short-lived as the couple reportedly split up in April that year after Skepta sparked speculation that he is fathering a child with a woman other than Naomi.
Skepta welcomed the birth of his daughter River at the end of 2018.
He opened up during a sit-down interview speaking to his sister Julie Adenuga for Apple Music’s Beats 1 in 2019 that becoming a father and going through two miscarriages with his partner led him to believe he wasn’t for fatherhood. He talked about how heartbreaking it was to go through two miscarriages for him, and his partner and another pregnancy hint came around for the third time for him. But rather than just blurting it out, he waited until a certain time and finally revealed it to his brother Jme.
He went on to say that he really wanted a son – until just one month before his partner was due to give birth when he switched to a daughter. The rapper also talked about bringing his children up to have morals, despite being wealthy. “She’s still going to have to learn, like my daughter’s still going to have to learn about life,” he said of River.

Skepta has largely kept his daughter River off social media but shared an adorable picture of her as he dressed up as a Teletubby on Christmas Day of 2019. The rapper captioned the picture, “EVERYTHING 4 U,” and fans congratulated him on his gorgeous daughter.
While Skepta was dating Naomi around the time his partner got pregnant, it’s not likely that Naomi is the mother. Naomi has publicly commented on many of the photos of Skepta’s daughter, leaving positive messages for the young girl, but nothing to indicate she might be River’s mom. Likely, Skepta has continued to keep most of the information about his child’s mother a secret for privacy.
Net Worth Of Skepta And Some Facts
Skepta is a very successful personality in the showbiz world as he seems to be surrounded by high-profile names and fame. He has also earned some loads of money, and his net worth is estimated to be around $2 million as per CelebrityNetWorth.
One of the high-profile artists he is close with is the Canadian rapper Drake. They have performed alongside each other on several occasions, including at Wireless Festival. Drake for himself borrowed a line from Skepta’a That’s Not me on Used To and included Used To on his If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late mixtape, to which he thanked Skepta in the album credits.
Well, this is only some of the close friends being closer to each other. Other than that, they have frequently supported each other via social media posts, getting a tattoo on them to honor each other, and such.
Skepta himself is quite the prominent musician, but earlier this year, he hinted that he would be retiring from music and that Dimension, his collab with JAE5 and Rema, would be his last. “This Jae5 song/video featuring Rema and myself was recorded and shot last year in Ghana,” he said in an Instagram post, adding, “Any verse of mine you hear this year were all recorded last year. I’ve stopped recording 2021.” Words have been spread that he will be next exploring the fashion world with his label, Mains, and his SK Air collab with Nike.
Skepta started out as a DJ and producer before picking up the mic as a member of Meridian Crew and later BBK. He became one of grime’s most beloved icons. He wasn’t the first to take grime Stateside (that’s a contested title that Jammer, Plastician, D Double, and quite a few others could stake a claim to). Still, it was Skepta that Diddy called on for his Hello Good Morning remix. It was Skepta’s Devilman clash that Drake fell head over heels for. It was Skepta who Kanye called on to rally the troops for that BRIT Awards shutdown. It was Skepta who fronted the grime scene’s New York invasion. Moreover, he even became the first Grime MC to win the Mercury Music Prize since Dizzee Rascal.
Not only in the grime scenes’ but Skepta has also shown his rap credentials which go as far back as 2008. After forming a Boy Better Know group, Skepta released some albums, including Greatest Hits, Microphone, Konnichiwa, Ignorance Is Bliss, and he has also dropped other albums like Champion and Doin’ It Again, to name a few. Some of the songs he has been credited to include No Qualms, Can You Hear Me?(Ayayaya), Vicious, Cancelled, Waze, Rescue Me, Ding-A-Ling, and much more.
