The rapper, Vic Mensa was arrested at Washington, D.C.'s Dulles International Airport on Saturday, 15 January while he was returning to the U.S. from Ghana. He was returning from a trip to Ghana and was pictured with the nation's president along with the rapper, Chance.
The rapper, Mensa was arrested with charges of felony narcotics possession after officials reportedly found LSD and a variety of psychedelic mushrooms in his luggage. According to CBP agents, a secondary baggage examination yielded 41 grams of Liquid LSD, around 124 grams of psilocybin (mushroom) capsules, 178 grams of psilocybin gummies, and six grams of psilocybin mushrooms.
The Customs and Border Protection Office released a statement via a press release stating, "Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority Police officers responded and charged Mensah with felony narcotics possession charges. MWAA Police officers took custody of Mensah and the illicit narcotics. Travelers can save themselves time and potential criminal charges during their international arrivals inspection if they took a few minutes to ensure that their luggage is drug-free."
The statement further added, "Narcotics interdiction remains a Customs and Border Protection enforcement priority and we remain commited to working closely with our federal, slate, and local law enforcement partners to ensure that those who transport illegal narcotics into the United States are investigated and prosecuted."
A spokesperson for Mensa had no comment at the time of the press release and the rapper was active on his social media posting pictures from his trip to Ghana with Chance the rapper and the nation's president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo before his arrest.
