Kyle Busch lost first place to Xfinity 500 racer Alex Bowman with just .472 seconds and joined Team Penske's Brad Keselowski, Ryan Blaney, and Joey Logano among the eliminated. He missed out on a championship 4 slot Sunday at Martinsville Speedway, coming up three points shy of advancing from the round of 8 groups, and earned himself a second-place result although it wasn’t what he hoped for.
He began to say that he ran like a dog and said,
“We had a hail Mary opportunity there at the end and we were trying to make something out of nothing. Great effort. We did everything we could all day long. We never stopped working on it, but we have missed it way too much lately, so I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
When asked about his contact with Brad after the race, he answered:
“ He drills my ass coming out of (turn) 4 for no reason. Where was he going? What was he going to do? Spin me out? He was trying to do a Harvick is what he was trying to do( Kevin Harvick spun Busch on the last lap of last year’s Martinsville playoff race). For what? For second place? To do what? He wasn’t going to transfer through with that. Freaking (R-word). So stupid. I don’t understand these guys.”
In one of my post-race interviews I used a word I should never use and I want to apologize for it.

Then, Busch tweeted the apology on Sunday night for using the R-word when talking to reporters after Sunday’s NASCAR Cup playoff race at Martinsville Speedway.
