With the injury at the start of the match, O'Malley started limping around, and Marlon Vera utilized the full chance of his injury.
During the game, Marlon Vera dropped multiple ground and pound against O'Malley, which led to an eventual stoppage with the end coming at 4:40 in the first round. After the match, Vera stated, 'A lot of people have a comment, have an opinion, it doesn't matter. The sky's the limit. I'm a motivated man. The dog I have inside is bigger than all these guys.'

O'Malley, well-known for his patience on feet, was methodological with his attacks. He opened his right foot charges against Marlon Vera in the midway of the opening round. However, he suffered an injury on his foot, seemingly giving the win to the opponent.
