Nick Cordero Amputated His Right Leg Due to Coronavirus
Nick Cordero was recovering after having his right leg amputated, his wife Amanda Kloots reveals to CNN's Lisa Respers France. With tears in her eyes, she said:
"He made it through the surgery, which is really big because obviously his body is pretty weak. Hopefully he'll just kind of relax and rest. I'm really blown away guys ... I wanna thank anyone that has given anything that they can. It's just overwhelming, I really thank you so much."
As per the medical reports, Nick had an infection in the lungs, which caused a high fever and low blood pressure. He had lost his consciousness, and pulse after which the doctors resuscitated him. But the result came negative.
His wife, Amanda, announced the saddest news through her Instagram story on 18 April 2020. As per her, doctors provided Nick blood thinners to help with blood clotting on his leg. However, it caused him internal bleeding in his intestines, eventually creating a devastating result.
Providing the details regarding Nick's right leg amputation, Amanda responded:
"They had him on blood thinners for the clotting and unfortunately the blood thinners were causing some other issues — blood pressure and some internal bleeding in his intestines. We took him off blood thinners but that again was going to cause some clotting in the right leg. So the right leg will be amputated today."
Nick was in ICU since 31 March 2020 to trouble in breathing and pneumonia. Although he had tested negative with Coronavirus for a couple of times, the third test showed him positive with the virus.
