American prisoner Philip was born on 21 January 1999 to his mother, Diana Amanda Chism, and father, Stacy Chism. His parents were married in September 1998, and they divorced in March 2001 as his father was involved in extramarital affairs. They reconciled in the summer of 2001 and had two more petitions for legal separation in 2011 and 2013. Finally, they divorced in 2014, although they share three children, two daughters, and a son.

Colleen Ritzer was a popular teacher at Danvers High School, and she had asked Chism to stay after school on 22 October 2013 to engage with him about the new community of Massachusetts from his old town of Clarksville, Tennessee.

Philip then followed Colleen to a school toilet and wielded a box cutter to rob, rape and kill her. According to the surveillance footage, Philip rolled her body in a garbage and buried her in the woods behind the school. He used Ritzer’s credit card to buy a movie ticket and was caught with Ritzer’s blood all over him. Hence, he was sentenced to 40 years in prison with the possibility of parole in 25 years on 26 February 2016.
