Pokemon Sword and Shield is the on-going newest installment of the Pokemon game franchise, which made its debut worldwide on 15 November 2019 on Nintendo Switch.

Picking the starter Pokemon is one of the most significant options that can be made in a Pokemon game, and Sword and Shield is no exemption. There are three types of starter Pokemon for the Sword and Shield.

Scorbunny- the fire type, Sobble- the water type, and Grookey- the grass type. Each of them further evolves into their second and third forms along with their base stats.

Scorbunny evolves into Raboot at level 16 and Cinderace at level 35. Sobble evolves into Drizzle at level 16 and Inteleon at level 35. Similarly, Grookey evolves into Thwackey at level 16 and Rillaboom at level 35.

Scorbunny has an advantage against grass, bug, steel, and ice type. Sobble has a type advantage against fire, steel, ground, and rock. Grookey has an advantage against water, ground, and rock type.

Gym Leaders, Exclusive Gym Based On Sword And Shield

Gyms are typical in the Pokemon game, where the trainer battle with the leaders, showing off their strength. After a defeat of the gym leaders, they give badges in return as proof of being a worthy trainer. If the players earn eight badges, they will be allowed to face the elite trainers to become champions.

Pokemon Sword and Shield have multiple gyms spread all across the Galar region. After the defeat of the eighth gym leaders, players can participate in the champion cup, a competition held every year for all trainers.

Also, when a trainer goes to a gym, they wear unique costumes for the tournament and can select the three-digit-number to adjust their outfits.

There are many gyms with their unique leaders in Pokemon Sword and Shield. The gyms vary based on cities with their unique missions as well as battles to fight against the leaders. In addition to the Pokemon varieties found in each franchise, Pokemon Sword and Shield hike up things further with raid battles as well as version exclusive gym battles.

Each version comprises of three exclusive gyms, which occurs beginning from the fourth gym and finishing with the sixth gym.
