The former Australian TV host, Andrew O'Keefe was arrested after he allegedly grabbed a woman's throat before kicking and punching her in Sydney's CBD. He was arrested on Thursday, at 4:30 am after police were notified about the assault taken on Tuesday afternoon.
NSW Police released a statement saying that the former host met the woman in her late 30s at his Kent Street Apartment on 25 January when the assault took place. They said, "A verbal argument ensued between the pair, before the man allegedly assaulted the woman, grabbing her by the throat, pushing her to the ground, and punching her. The man allegedly assaulted the woman a second time - punching and kicking her - before she left the unit."
O'Keefe was arrested with two charges of choking a person and three counts of common assault and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and when he was taken to the station, the former host could be heard screaming and thumping the side of a van.

Andrew O'Keefe was born as one of five children of Barry O'Keefe, a judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales. He is also the nephew of famous Australian rock and roll singer Johnny O'Keefe. Andrew was also the frontman of several Sydney brands in the 90s and played trumpet and piano.
He was previously married to Eleanor and had three children together. They separated in 2017 for unknown reasons and their divorce was finalized in 2019. Many people even assumed that the former Chase host got remarried after he was spotted wearing a ring but he cleared the suspicions saying that he was just wearing them on-air.
