Kim Ga-young debuted in the entertainment industry as a singer of the South Korean girl group, Stellar. The K-pop girl group made their way under The Entertainment Pascal on 28 August 2011. At the time, the musical group released their debut single "Rocket Girl."

However, she did not renew her contract with The Entertainment Pascal by August 2017. Later, she started pursuing an acting career on her own. The following year in 2018, she revealed that she started her new career in the eatery industry. She opened a cafe named 'Hartogela' in Itaewon, and she is still running it while she also pursues an acting career.
