Police then captured him and he was also charged with kidnapping a 12-year-old Lexington County girl, who survived and returned home after her brief disappearance.
Later, Starrett confessed to killing a 15-year-old Georgia girl, Jean McCrea who disappeared around Christmas in 1988. After investigations, it was discovered that Daniel Starrett had abducted many young girls over a period of several months, recorded his victims while he sexually assaulted them and the police also found massive pornography collection in his rented storage unit.
Daniel pleaded guilty to seven kidnappings/ assaults and was charged with multiple charges, as a result, he received nine life sentences.
