Yazmeen Williams was found fatally shot, wrapped in a sleeping bag and left out with the trash on a Kips Bay sidewalk. She was found stuffed inside a sleeping bag and left among several black trash bags placed on the sidewalk for garbage collection. According to police, she was shot in the head and her death was ruled a homicide. Her body was dumped on Third Avenue near East 27th Street before workers at a nearby saloon moved the black bag, thinking it was part of their own trash pile.
